Position Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Technician (possibly titled as Lab Manager, depending on experience) will report to the VP of Engineering and will be work on the company’s research and development projects. This role will be the tactical execution and organizing force in the laboratory. The right candidate will also manage much of our facilities / operations aspects. The team will look to you as someone that gets things done in the lab – whether it be coordinating ordering with our purchasing staff, organizing, executing mechanical builds, assembling, or finding ways to make our scientists, engineers, and operations staff be more efficient.
You would start each week with a list of what you believe should be accomplished each week with the VP Engineering and select Operations staff – you would be seen as the person who has a pulse on the needs in the lab and provides clarity in what needs to be done in a given week. You would also be the point person for hiring temporary staff to help with surges in assembly, operations, or technical work in the laboratory.
There would be opportunity for advanced in learning new skills by working with engineers, scientists, or the VP of Engineering. This person would also lead the maintenance of our prototyping equipment.

Position Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will report to a Staff Systems Engineer and will be work on the company’s research and development projects. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and testing mechanical engineering solutions to aid the team in the attainment of their goals. This person would use their expertise in mechanical engineering to network with the team of scientists, biochemists, and other engineers to develop mechanical systems, fixtures, and light automation solutions for the team. They will be responsible for operating our in-house rapid prototyping capabilities that include a Mark Forged X7, Form 3, Universal Laser R5000 system, and we define our mechanical prototyping shop.
You will also have commitment from the VP of Engineering to provide coaching to you in your career advancement. Here, Iridia would commit to helping you hone/build additional skills in Solidworks, Solidworks PDM, rapid prototyping, or other areas that are you see as important to advance.
This role will also have project leadership in the mechanical engineering realm, for example, being responsible for delivering light automation solutions to certain RnD needs. This would include managing the activities of external parties executing work.
